RMIT University was established in 1887 in Melbourne, Australia. It was previously known as the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology or Melbourne Technical College.

Entry Requirement Criteria for RMIT

Entry requirements ensure that you are eligible to start your study as per the RMIT university standard.

RMIT includes three major entry requirements in its guidelines.

1. Minimum Age Requirement

For admission to any course of the university, you must be at least 16 years old. 

Also, if you are below 18, you must have welfare arrangements. It ensures that you will be living in an environment with proper emotional and practical support like living with relatives.

The university will check your accommodation and issue a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare.

2. Academic Requirements

The academic requirement is different for different courses. For students from Nepal

Undergraduate Course (Bachelor)

• Completion of Higher Secondary School (+2) with English
• Completion of diploma 3 years course in related fields

Postgraduate Course (Master)

• Completion of Bachelor’s degree in the same or related field
• Work experience in related fields (Optional)

3. English Language Requirements

Since English is not the first language in Nepal, students from Nepal have to demonstrate their English Language proficiency.

RMIT accepts different language tests.

• IELTS:  6.5, minimum 6 in each band
• TOEFL (internet-based): 79, minimum 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking, and 21 in Writing
• PTE: 58, minimum 50 in each module

Compulsory for all Nepalese students for the duration of their student visa. It is organized by the university itself.
