The University of Wollongong (UOW) was established in 1951 in Wollongong as a division of the New South Wales University of Technology. Later in 1975, it got the tag of an independent university.

It is considered one of the best public universities in Australia and ranked among the top 250 universities in the world.

Entry Requirement for University of Wollongong

Additional Expenses

Apart from tuition fees, the additional expenses at the University of Wollongong includes:

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

OSHC is compulsory for every student for the duration of their student visa.

The university provides OSHC for its students. UOW prefers Bupa as the OSHC provider for its students. However, if you like to purchase it yourself, you can purchase it from any approved health insurers.

Apart from this, other expenses include the purchase of textbooks and personal goods. And, it depends on the individual.


Accommodation at University of Wollongong

The university provides student residence for the accommodation of the international students. It allows both on-campus and off-campus accommodation.

Scholarships for Nepali Students

UOW provides scholarships to International students for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Here are some of the popular scholarships for which students from Nepal are eligible:

1. Nepal Bursary

  • Scholarship Amount: 10% reduction of tuition fee for undergraduate and 20% for postgraduate
  • Eligibility Criteria: If you are a Nepali citizen, you are already eligible for this scholarship

2. Diplomat Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 30% reduction in tuition fee
